This tour will start with a must see of Scottish movie’s locations: Trainspotting was filmed in Edinburgh. The atmosphere of degeneration described in the movie has changed a lot nowadays; the area is now famous for its high-quality restaurants and pubs.
Before heading North, we strongly suggest to visit the Rosslyn Chapel to admire the medieval sculptures where Dan Brown’s “Da Vinci code” was filmed.
Next stop is Aberdeen, the “Granite city”, the most beautiful skyline of Scotland.
On the way you can also see Pennan a tiny village in Aberdeenshire where you can admire a classic feature of Scottish film world: the red booth of the movie “Local Hero”.
If you watch carefully you will notice that on the movie the telephone box was located in a different spot…
Approximately 10 miles from Inverness you will also find the Cawdor Castle, an extremely popular attraction romantically linked by Shakespeare to Macbeth.
Next spots to visit: the Glen Mor, a valley extending almost 60 miles and Loch Ness, will you be lucky enough to meet our famous monster?
Just few miles from Fort William there is the glenfinnan viaduct, made famous thanks to the Harry Potter films.
Fort Williams has been used plenty of times for filming. If you look carefully at the surroundings you can easily recognize locations from Braveheart, Rob Roy, Highlander and Harry Potter.
Heading south you can stop by the striking Falls of Dochart at the hearth of Killin Village, location of “Casino Royale”.
On the way back to Edinburgh you can also see the Doune Castle, linked to “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”.
The castle is still today a must see for the fans of Monty Python.
Our journey is over, time to go back to the airport. Hope you enjoyed the tour!
